Weekly Enrichment

Children engage in project-focused, hands-on experiences that provide the appropriate amount of challenge to enhance learning in the following subjects: Music & Movement, Creative Arts, STEM, Health & Fitness, Show and Tell (Public Speech), and Safety & Emergency Drills.

Music and Movement

Music and movement activities develop small and large motor skills and improve balance and coordination. These experiences also promote children’s expression, creativity, and especially the musical-rhythmic and bodily-kinesthetic intelligences.

Creative Arts

Painting, drawing, molding and making designs fosters creativity, expression, and various levels of critical thinking. Hands-on experiences with art processes also reinforce early language and literacy skills. These experiences especially enhance visual-spatial intelligence.

STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math link together to expand children’s discoveries by their natural curiosities. Such learning activities particularly enhance logical-mathematical intelligence and naturalistic intelligence.

  • Science is a way of thinking - observing, asking questions

  • Technology is a way of doing - using tools, making things work

  • Engineering is a way of doing - solving problems, designing, and building things

  • Math is a way of measuring - analyzing, understanding the world

Health & Fitness

Children learn about their bodies, healthy habits and become equipped to make healthier choices by understanding the importance of their bodies. They follow nutrition guidelines that are associated with topics such as the heart, skin, brain, muscles, bones, eyes, ears, and more. These experiences enhance verbal-linguistic intelligence and intrapersonal intelligence.

Show & Tell (Speech)

Bringing an object from home, or choosing one from inside the class, to present is the first experience young children have in public speech as they “choose” a topic of meaning or relevance to them. Routine experiences in public speaking strengthen self-esteem and expand thinking as children describe, narrate, and socialize. These experiences enhance verbal-linguistic intelligence and interpersonal intelligence.

Safety & Emergency Drills

Children improve safety knowledge and practice emergency responses. These experiences increase readiness, confidence, and resilience.
